Buffy
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008Buffy is gone now, off running an adventure in the sun… somewhere else. She came into our lives in the early months of 2000, and gave us more love than we deserved.

Rest in Peace, Boo-Girl.

Here is a CNN article about a solar company that has several unique aspects: Namaste Solar Electric is the company’s name, and they “walk their talk,” which is refreshing. Here is a link to Namaste’s actual website.
When companies, big and small, do what they can to reduce their impact on the earth, then it is a very good thing. Though solar energy has some limitations, in the right places with the right installations it is very good for many uses. Even in the Pacific Northwest where we can have 200+ cloudy days a year (and most of our electricity comes from hydropower), solar power can be used to help offset electricity needs, making power cheaper for everyone.
And yes, solar power is one of the improvements we hope to make to our home at some point. When we re-roof in about 7 years, sooner if we can.
Yes, it took four days for me to post the last of the pictures from the trip. I will post my recollections later. The new week is upon us! And we have just bought a new washing machine…
The pictures are at the post titled: Picture Postcards.
