This is an area that doesn’t need too much upkeep, but over the years the wellhouse, the “carport” and a few other places have become filled with cast-off items and items we have put aside thinking we will use them again. At this point, many of the items are never going to be useful to anyone due to mold or corrosion or just obsolescence. It is time to sort and re-home or discard most of it. These pictures pretty much are showing the very beginning of the process. Like the previous two posts, this was written earlier and scheduled for posting today (Wednesday). Unlike yesterday, when I posted the last pictures several hours later (had to wait for the sun so the colors were nice), all the pics are here this time!

This area needs work — the table was scraped last summer but didn’t get stained. The clothesline needs a new support mid-span, and the little planting area needs annuals again.

Picnic Table

Looking toward the carport. Unseen is the huge blackberry bramble that needs taming, but clearly there are items being stored that just need new homes.

Carport

I suppose most homes have an area that seems to collect extra debris for eventual dispersal. For us, it’s the laundry room steps. Put away the “stuff,” weed and plant something pretty next to the house…

Laundry Room entrance and clutter

Large enough for croquet or bocce ball, we just need to sort though the items that are on the tarp, add some soil in the low spots and some clover or grass seed and it’s good to go!

Main play area, grassy expanse

Last but not least, the path and area in front of the wellhouse. Again, items that need a place to go — they might have been useful to someone had they been given away immediately. At this point, a lot of it is good only for the landfill (and I hate that thought…). Resolution: don’t put things outside any more — either toss immediately or take immediately to give-away points!
